Production Planner

Avionic Instruments LLC currently has an opening for a Production Planner. This role will have strong interaction with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and with a number of managers. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling production in each of the production lines. 

            Key Responsibilities:

In this role the incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Processing inputs from Sales, Materials, and Production.
  2. Review and approval of new orders.
  3. Perform a level of demand and capacity analysis.
  4. Creating Production Schedule for several work centers.
  5. Participate in the tracking of orders and of on-time-deliveries.
  6. Provide feedback to Customer Service regarding deliveries to customers.
  7. Interact with Purchasing Department regarding raw materials issues and their resolutionsp
  8. Analyze adherence to schedule and address through problem solving or escalation (with a team).

            Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills and education:

  1. A personality aligned with demands of fast-paced production
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, supervisors, managers, and executives.
  3. Previous experience in scheduling, production support, and MRP.
  4. Ability to analyze Demand and Capacity.
  5. Personally driven to perform under pressure, when necessary, and to improve systems.
  6. Production leveling (heijunka) experience.
  7. Experience generating reports related to Production Planning.
  8. Experience facilitating S&OP, Lean Manufacturing a plus.
  9. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years.
  10. Education, BA in Business or related field.

IT Manager

Position Overview: 

The IT Manager is responsible for the management of all IT staff, managing all IT assets, policies and procedures.  This encompasses two distinct sites. The candidate will be responsible for aligning the company processes and information technology systems with the business strategies and goals of the company. The candidate will act as a liaison between technology teams, support teams, and business departments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the installation, management, and operation of computer systems and networks.  This includes meeting all uptime, recovery, and legal requirements.
  • Writing of procedures for all computer related functions
  • Assist managers in any and all operations for better management and information flow
  • Management of Network Administrator(s)
  • Ensures compliance with IT Audits (internal/external)
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver operational results
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
  • The IT Manager manages and maintains the Epicor ERP system and is responsible for managing, maintaining and customizing Epicor v10 and supporting systems of the software.
  • Implement systems and process based business solutions
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Work independently.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Strong problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.  Epicor ERP experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent MIS degree with five years working in the information technology field.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL server, application implementation and reporting experience with Crystal, SSRS, SQL
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector will perform electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections of finished goods, in-process products, and incoming raw materials used in the production of products according to documented test and inspection methods.

Responsibilities:

Perform all Quality Control activities as required to ensure that production plans and objectives are completed. Coordinate with other departments to prioritize inspections and record reviews as appropriate.

Assist with resolving quality problems within the inspection department, such as documentation or non-compliance issues.

Perform Quality Control Inspections of Incoming Materials, In-Process Assemblies and Finished Products as required following written procedures.

Review completed process travelers for accuracy and completeness and perform product documentation final release reviews.

Complete and file quality records including process travelers and nonconforming material reports.

Maintain the Quality Control Inspection area in a neat and orderly manner.

Make suggestions as how to improve the quality control process.

Assist QA as required to perform first article inspections, nonconformance investigations, and process qualifications.

Assist Engineering and Quality Assurance to perform component validation and characterization testing.

Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in an inspection role
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to distinguish surface details and characteristics

Preferred:

  • IPC Certification
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, highly trainable and responsible
  • Basic familiarity with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to utilize a computer to enter data and prepare reports
  • Basic familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 Quality System Requirements.

Responsible for managing vendors, processing of purchase orders, and supplies.

Responsibilities: 

  1.  Analyze (MRP) Material Resource Planning Reports (3)
  2.  Review shortages and discrepancies
  3.  Select vendors and prepare quotes
  4.  Submit quotes to approved sources
  5.  Review return quotes and select vendor based on cost and leadtime

Job Skills

Repair Technician

Avionic Instruments LLC is an internationally recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced airborne-qualified power conversion and control equipment.  We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an individual to assume a role as a Repair Technician on our Test Department team.  The ideal candidate will be a dedicated self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. To learn the fundamentals required to perform Electronic Assembly Testing and

                        Troubleshooting from using work instructions and on the job training.

  1. Troubleshoot down to component level.
  2. Support production schedule at all times.
  3. Learn and maintain knowledge of as many product lines as possible.
  4. To work strategically with production, engineering, and sales to support high quality

                        products, on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.

  1. Streamline process of building products.
  2. Communicate issues to engineering, production, quality and materials that effect product

                        quality.

  1. Assist in continuous improvement of all Test Fixtures, Benches, and Operations.

Completion of Training Requirements is targeted between 6 & 12 months.  Rectification (if applicable) is required every two years unless otherwise specified in the course itself

Qualifications:

BS Degree (with certificates) or at least 4 years of work related experience in the field.

2 years experience

Authorities:

  1. Enforcement of policies, procedures and work instructions.
  2. Has the authority to report problems according to Corporate procedures
  3. Has the authority to stop the manufacturing process if any unsafe conditions are presented
