Responsibilities: 

  1.  Analyze (MRP) Material Resource Planning Reports (3)
  2.  Review shortages and discrepancies
  3.  Select vendors and prepare quotes

  5.  Review return quotes and select vendor based on cost and leadtime

Job Skills

Repair Technician

Avionic Instruments LLC is an internationally recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced airborne-qualified power conversion and control equipment.  We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an individual to assume a role as a Repair Technician on our Test Department team.  The ideal candidate will be a dedicated self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. To learn the fundamentals required to perform Electronic Assembly Testing and

                        Troubleshooting from using work instructions and on the job training.

  1. Troubleshoot down to component level.
  2. Support production schedule at all times.
  3. Learn and maintain knowledge of as many product lines as possible.
  4. To work strategically with production, engineering, and sales to support high quality

                        products, on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.

  1. Streamline process of building products.

Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview:

          

The Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities include the management of process/configuration control, work instructions, and line set/ups for Avionic Instruments production department. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  1. To work strategically with production, engineering, and sales to support high quality products, on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.
  2. Deployment of personnel and/or equipment on a daily basis to meet established production schedule/objectives as they apply to customer needs.
  3. Support ISO facility implementation and any Continuous Improvement programs such as Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma.
  4. Streamline process of building products.
  5. Attend daily production meetings and communicate issues to production manager.
  6. Management of production personnel..
  7. Communicate production issues that will impact customer delivery, quality etc. to Production Manager.
  8. Can issue request for Corrective or Preventive Action Request.

Basic Requirements:

 

  • Strong problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Good communications and presentation skills--both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working as a collaborative partner with the engineering, service, marketing, customer care and related organizations to deliver world-class services.
  • Computer literate to the extent of utilizing a laptop computer for communications and presentations, and they should be client-focused

Building Maintenance Technician

Position Overview: 

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the entire facility, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affect Avionic Instrument’s ability to open for business. Additionally, the Building Maintenance Technician will assess and consider daily: the safety of our employees and the security of our assets. This position will coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.

Essential Functions: 

  • Acts as the primary contact for all personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
  • Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
  • May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
  • Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
  • Solicits bids and quotes from vendors
  • Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
  • Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary
  • Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves
  • Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required
  • Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed
  • Dismantles and installs furniture
  • Transports goods or equipment as assigned
  • Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
  • Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge:

Mechanical Engineer Manager

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. This is a hand’s on multifaceted Design and Management role with also strong interaction with Manufacturing and Repair. The candidate will be required to architect innovative Power Electronic Packaging Designs for the aerospace industry. The candidate should be an expert in thermal and stress simulation tools to validate designs. Furthermore, the candidate will be expected to manage and mentor a group of Junior Mechanical Engineers.

           

Key Responsibilities:

In this role the incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work with Electrical and Electro-Mechanical Engineers to make critical part placement on PCB assemblies.
  • Design layout and routing of appropriate printed circuit boards and designs associated PCB assemblies.
  • Designs overall mechanical packaging.
  • Performs design verification and tolerance checking.
  • Instruct production line assemblers on drawing content as required.
  • Consult with production engineering in the design of fixtures required for assembly
  • Designs of minor mechanical parts as directed by the Configuration Manager.
  • Generation, revision, and maintenance of engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Create required outline / top assembly drawings for both products and sales proposals
  • Create detail drawings for use by outside vendors to make per print fabricated parts
  • Consult with ILS department to develop assembly drawings compatible with Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Mechanical design and electronics packaging of switch mode power supplies, inverters, battery backup power, frequency converters and voltage regulators.
  • Run analysis (thermal and stress) to validate design
  • Manage Vibration testing for unit Qualification Units
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with transfer of Units from Engineering to Manufacturing
  • Participate in product cost reductions by looking for, and validating alternate parts.
  • Manage a group of Mechanical Engineers to meet program schedules.


           

Requirements:

 

The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills and education:

  • Education: B.S.E.E (required) and M.S.E.E (preferred)
  • Work Experience: Minimum 12 years design and at least 2 years Managing Mechanical Group
  • Must be able to use Thermal and Stress Simulation tools (FlowTherm, Ansys, etc.)
  • Highly motivated self-starters with a desire to win
  • Comfortable with being held accountable for results
  • Manage a team to solve complex problems.
