Test Technician

Avionic Instruments LLC is an internationally recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced airborne-qualified power conversion and control equipment.  We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an individual to assume a role as a Test Technician on our Test Department team.  The ideal candidate will be a dedicated self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. To learn the fundamentals required to perform Electronic Assembly Testing and  Troubleshooting from using work instructions and on the job training.
  2. Troubleshoot down to component level.
  3. Support production schedule at all times.
  4. Learn and maintain knowledge of as many product lines as possible.
  5. To work strategically with production, engineering, and sales to support high quality products, on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.
  6. Streamline process of building products.
  7. Communicate issues to engineering, production, quality and materials that effect product quality.
  8. Assist in continuous improvement of all Test Fixtures, Benches, and Operations.

Completion of Training Requirements is targeted between 6 & 12 months.  Rectification (if applicable) is required every two years unless otherwise specified in the course itself

Qualifications:

BS Degree (with certificates) or at least 4 years of work related experience in the field.

2 Years Experience

Must have 20/50 vision with or without corrective lenses.

Authorities:

  1. Enforcement of policies, procedures and work instructions.
  2. Has the authority to report problems according to  Corporate procedures
  3. Has the authority to stop the manufacturing process if any unsafe conditions are presented

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works standing and/or seated while performing duties.
  • Handles medium to heavy weight material.
  • Clean room conditions may apply.
  • ESD control training and compliance with ESD policies may be required.
  • Safety glasses with side shields required.

Software Co-op

Avionic Instruments LLC is a leader of power conversion and distribution system for aerospace industry.  Our products are used on a wide range of civil and military aircrafts. We are looking for a talented student who wants to learn to joint our engineering team.                  

The successful candidate should be a quick learner, self-driven, and takes pride in his/her own work. 

What you will do and learn: 

  • Learn embedded system development through hands on work on hardware (schematic, print circuit board), embedded software, and system
  • Draft high level and low level software verification test procedures under senior engineer’s supervision
  • Perform software verification tests, analysis, and unit ATP tests
  • Track changes and revise design documents as required
  • Support senior engineers for ad-hoc tasks
  • Previous micro-controller related lab work or project preferred but not required

What we require: 

  • Senior year in Computer engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer science or other related discipline or rising Junior with relevant coursework in embedded systems
  • Experience in at least one programming languages such as C
  • GPA of 3.0 and above

Mechanical Engineering Co-op

 Assist in Product transitioning by working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure proper assembly documentation is in place.

  • Understand and execute changes based on First Article Inspection requirements.
  • Generate and perform updates to mechanical and electrical parts and assemblies.
  • Produce reports documenting inconsistencies between ERP management system and documents on-file.
  • Support release of Engineering Change Notices for production Implementation.
  • Organize, scan, and distribute all documentation pertaining to new and legacy designs.

What we require: 

  • Rising Senior in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or rising Junior with relevant experience in Production Transitioning or Document Control.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and drafting in SOLIDWORKS and/or AutoCAD.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

Configuration Manager

Avionic Instruments have a job opening for a Configuration Manager. In this role the Configuration Manager will report to the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for the configuration management of products through their complete life cycle.

Duties         

  • Performs Document Control functions of Version Control, Naming Convention, Approval Cycle, Traceability, Archiving, Storage, Information Distribution, Publishing, Searching, and overall Content Management.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production to establish technical documentation and determine subject material to be developed for publication.
  • Administers and chairs Change Control Board (CCB) for Data and Configuration.((CHANGE BOARD MTG)
  • Maintain, publish, and disseminate Service Bulletins and Temporary Revisions.
  • Maintains engineering forms and templates for various document types e.g., Qualification Test Procedure and establish Proprietary Markings and Classification, Export Control, distribution statement List
  • Procedure for Control of Process Documentation
  • Responsible for Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process
  • Manages legacy documents and drawings in an onsite physical repository (document vault).
  • Manages security features and assurances for ITAR documents
  • Generates and maintains Product Baseline Records (PBRs ) to ensure traceability and data integrity.
  • Establish, communicate, and maintain documentation templates
  • Release Drawing Packages and Bill of Material in ERP systems
  • Must maintain tractability of drawing packages and BOM from Engineering Development, Qualification to release into Manufacturing to product improvement through product life cycle.

Business Unit Manager

Avionic Instruments LLC currently has an opening for Business Unit Manager. Responsible for business results (Profit and Loss, meeting annual plan and growth in the value for a business).  The scope of this position includes:  leadership of a cross functional business unit team (sales, operations, engineering, quality), new business generation, proposal preparation, bookings (orders), Profit and Loss accountability, developing and maintaining customer relationships, establishing the yearly business plan, overseeing operating activities to ensure good customer service and cost objectives are met, contract negotiation and other duties.

This position focuses heavily on value creation.  The Business Unit Manager focuses on details of value creation, i.e; value based pricing, continual cost improvement, and identifying profitable new business opportunities. He/She guides a team of sales personnel, engineers and manufacturing personnel to create real intrinsic value.

This is the key job in the company for promotion to senior management positions.
