AI² has developed a power conversion equipment line to offer commercially available Static Inverters, AC-AC Frequency Converters, AC-DC Regulated and Unregulated Transformer Rectifier Units, DC-DC & AC-AC Light Dimming Controllers, Permanent Magnetic Generator Regulators, Bus Sense and Switch products, and Bit Logic Control Relays.
Avionic Instruments (AI²) has been supplying power conversion products since the early 1970’s. For 40 years, Avionic Instruments has maintained a technological edge above and beyond its competition and has been the first choice in power conversion and power processing technology for key aircraft systems; primary backup power, main electrical bus power, electronic warfare and countermeasure protection systems, front-end radar systems, fire control and display systems, and tactical computer server and communication racks.
Flite-Tronics, orginally a California based inverter manufacturer, offers more than 75 models of static inverters and power conversion devices. The entire electronics manufacturing operation was moved to Avenel,NJ in 2006 when Avionc Instruments acquired the product line from sister-division Marathon-Norco.
In December 2008, Avionic Instruments LLC and our sister company, Skurka Aerospace Inc., took over the Starter Generator and Generator Control Unit product lines from Aircraft Parts Corporation (APC).
In July 2009 AI² acquired the Acme Aerospace division from Acme Electric Corporation. Acme Aerospace Inc. has been designing and manufacturing lightweight, high power battery chargers, power supplies and backup power systems since the 1970's. Utilizing advanced switching converter technology; Acme's chargers are commonplace throughout the aerospace market in applications utilizing lead-acid, vented nickel-cadmium, lithium, and fiber nickel-cadmium (FNC) battery technologies.
